Several dwarf galaxies orbiting around a nearby elliptical galaxy called Centaurus A are rotating in synchrony around their host, to astronomers’ surprise. This is inconsistent with more than 99% of comparable galaxies in simulations. Centaurus A. Image credit: NASA / ESA / Hubble Space Telescope / ESO / Robert Gendler & Roberto Colombari.
